Fans Nxt Door!
Article posted October 1, 2007 Last September 30, Boys Nxt Door granted the wish of many fans by bringing the cast of the hit teen-oriented series to Marikina River Banks to feel the fun with their loyal followers! The fans enjoyed an afternoon of fun games and performances, and the cast enjoyed their time at the venue too!
“Nakakatuwa kasi maraming dumating,” Rich Asuncion gushed after seeing the throngs of fans waiting for their idols to take to the stage. The weather was unpredictable, making the very warm reception all the more surprising for the cast of Boys Nxt Door.
“Napaka-blessed” was how Aljur Abrenica described the experience of seeing their legions of fans enduring the heat just to see them. “Napaka-thankful po kasi dinagsa kami ng tao.”
Kris Bernal and Jennica Garcia were both particularly ecstatic as well. The energetic Kris practically oozed with zest as she shared how happy she was with the chance to bond with the fans that they rarely get to see. “Grabe talaga. Talagang pumunta ‘yung mga tumatangkilik ng Boys Nxt Door. At masaya kami kasi hindi namin alam na ganyan nila kami kamahal, na talagang pumunta sila dito, na may effort at oras.”
Jennica, on the other hand, didn’t know how to deal with her mixed emotions. “Hindi ko alam paano ko ie-explain. Masayang-masaya. Kasi nagkakamali ako doon sa mga sayaw, tapos pag nakakakita ako ng mga taong nakatingin sa akin, lahat sila ok lang ‘yan! Ako naman, lalong nakakahiya!”
Another cast member who was experiencing a different kind of emotion was Jesi Corcuera. Her encounter with a fan made her feel special, like she was doing something good. “Mayroong isang matanda na pumunta sa amin ni Kiko na sobrang idol daw po niya kami. Halos hindi na po siya makalakad, pero nagpunta pa rin siya dito. Kaya sobrang saya (ko) dahil pinagbigyan nila kami sa ganitong pasasalamat namin sa pagtangkilik nila sa Boys Nxt Door. Sobrang flattered po, nakaka-touch.”
Meanwhile, Glaiza De Castro and Stef Prescott bonded backstage. The two were overflowing with gratitude for their fans as well. The two were the most vocal in giving thanks to their supportive fans. Glaiza even said, “Kung wala sila, wala rin kami dito.”
Stef was also grateful for the show for giving them the chance to become role models. She continued, “And since youth-oriented siya, hindi siya nakakasawang panoorin.”
The cast had traveled from their guesting at SOP straight to the venue of the Grand Fans’ Day. And before that, they had come from a late finish of a Boys Nxt Door taping. But according to Glaiza, being tired no longer mattered after seeing their fans. “ Nakaka-overwhelm kapag nakikitang ecstatic silang lahat. Nakaka-up ng energy din.”
Even the usual silent Kiko Junio spoke up to share just how much they appreciate their fans’ support. “Kahit na po umuulan, sinuportahan nila. Kaya salamat po sa lahat ng dumalo sa Grand Fan’s Day ng Boys Nxt Door. Tsaka sana po, keep supporting. Para po hindi lang season two ang BND, madagdagan pa ng susunod!”
The show went on as the sun went down, but the energy never ran out in Marikina Riverbanks. The fans continued to cheer, further energizing the cast of Boys Nxt Door to give their 100% on stage and in meeting their fans. After all, entertaining them has always been top priority.
